Senator Dismisses Allegations as Baseless

In a statement released on Tuesday, Akpoti-Uduaghan rejected the accusations, labeling them as a deliberate attempt to mislead the public and tarnish her reputation. She categorically stated that no such financial transaction ever occurred.

“Let me be clear: I have never received ₦500 million or any amount from Senator Akpabio. At no time did I make any statement suggesting such. This is nothing but a deliberate falsehood aimed at causing unnecessary controversy,” Akpoti-Uduaghan asserted.

Calls for Public to Disregard False Claims

The Kogi state senator urged the public to dismiss the allegations, which she claimed were politically motivated. She warned that the spread of such misinformation poses a significant threat to Nigeria’s democratic values.

Akpoti-Uduaghan expressed concern over the rising dissemination of fake news, she called on Nigerians to verify information before accepting or sharing it.

“It is unfortunate that certain individuals are willing to fabricate such blatant lies. I urge Nigerians to verify information before believing or sharing it,” she added.

Demands Investigation and Accountability

Akpoti-Uduaghan challenged those behind the rumors to present credible evidence supporting their claims. She reaffirmed her commitment to upholding integrity and accountability in her public service.

In response to the “malicious rumours,” the senator called for an official investigation into the origins of the misinformation and urged relevant authorities to hold those responsible accountable.

Commitment to Truth and Justice

Senator Natasha reiterated her dedication to the principles of truth and justice, emphasizing that defamation and character assassination should not be tolerated in Nigeria’s political sphere.

“Defamation and character assassination should have no place in our society. I am confident that the truth will always prevail,” she declared.
