Nigerian comedian and activist Mr Macaroni has taken a swipe at individuals who only raise their voices against injustice when it directly impacts them.

Sharing his thoughts on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, the skit maker called out what he termed hypocrisy, emphasising that he has consistently spoken against wrongdoing, regardless of ethnicity, religion, or social standing.

“Some of us have always stood up against evil! Irrespective of the tribe, religion, or social status of those involved. We Dey! The hypocrisy is with those of you that only want to speak up when it directly affects you. Una no get level!” he wrote.

He further cautioned that when the repercussions of negligence eventually unfold, people should acknowledge those who have been championing the fight for a just society from the beginning.

“When water finally pass garri, make una dey remember say some of us have been standing up against evil on all levels since we started fighting for a better society. If everyone took responsibility from the beginning, we wouldn’t be here today. Peace to all,” he added.

Mr Macaroni, born Debo Adedayo, has built a reputation for his outspoken stance on governance and social justice. A key figure during the 2020 #EndSARS protests, he has remained unwavering in his criticism of poor leadership and human rights abuses in Nigeria.

His latest comments have sparked debates online, with many weighing in on the state of activism and civic responsibility in the country.
