The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has apprehended 43 individuals suspected of engaging in cybercrime during a targeted operation in the Toto area of Nasarawa State.

The raid, which took place on Friday, May 30, 2025, was carried out following what the EFCC described as “actionable intelligence” linking the suspects to various forms of online fraudulent activity.

According to a statement shared by the Commission on its official X (formerly Twitter) account on Saturday, the operation led to the seizure of a number of items believed to be used in or acquired through internet fraud.

Among the items confiscated were 64 mobile phones—many of them high-end devices such as iPhones and Samsung models—an iPad, four laptops, and five motorcycles.

Photos released alongside the announcement showed the arrested suspects and a display of the recovered items.

“Their arrest followed actionable intelligence which linked them to fraudulent internet activities,” the statement read. “Items recovered from them include five motorcycles, 64 mobile phones, four laptop computers and an iPad.”

The EFCC also noted that investigations are currently underway to establish the extent of each suspect’s involvement in the alleged cybercrime operations. The Commission affirmed that those found culpable will be formally charged in court upon the conclusion of investigations.
