Liverpool have formally revealed that they have secured Hungarian left-back Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth in a transfer of £40 million ($54.4 million) that makes him the most expensive full-back in the club’s history.
The 21-year-old comes to Anfield after a brilliant season for Andoni Iraola during which he was the starter for every Premier League game and provided five assists—doubling the number of Reds winger Luis Díaz. Continually energetic and with a high level of tactical sense, Kerkez is regarded as a big improvement at left-back and a man who can replace Andy Robertson, who has been talked about going to Atlético Madrid, if the rumors are true.

This acquisition is part of a hectic summer period at Liverpool who, apart from securing the services of the German duo Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz, have also welcomed their Hungarian goalie Ármin Pécsi to the club.
Bournemouth manager Iraola commented on Kerkez’s growth throughout the last season, emphasizing his ability to choose better in the last third of the pitch. With his power, energy, and on-target crossing, Kerkez is set to be one of the main contributors of Arne Slot’s reformed Liverpool team in the 2025–26 season.
