Harry Potter Star Emma Watson Banned From Driving

Harry Potter star Emma Watson, best known for her iconic role as Hermione Granger, has been banned from driving for six months after being caught speeding in Oxford. The 35-year-old actress, now pursuing a master’s degree in creative writing at Oxford University, was fined £1,044 at High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court following the incident.

The Speeding Incident That Cost Emma Watson Her License

Watson was driving her blue Audi at 38mph in a 30mph zone on July 31 last year, pushing her over the legal limit for penalty points. The court heard she already had nine points on her license before the latest offense, triggering the automatic six-month driving ban.

Emma Watson Skips Court Hearing as Lawyer Confirms Fine Payment

The actress and activist did not attend the five-minute court hearing, where her lawyer, Mark Haslam, stated she was “in a position to pay the fine.” Representatives for Watson have yet to comment publicly on the ruling.

Watson, who shot to fame at age 11 as Hermione Granger in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, has since transitioned from acting to academia.
