Matheus Cunha, the new signing of Manchester United, has rebroadcast his happiness of joining the club in words which described his £62.5 million move from Wolves as a fulfilled dream.
After new manager Ruben Amorim has spotted the versatile forward as one of the most important targets, United have released the Brazilian’s release clause very early this summer.
At the press conference after his signing, Cunha has confirmed that he is open to challenges and understands the pressure which follows a change of the top profile player like this one.
“Honestly, I don’t really think the pressure here is pressure—it’s more like a privilege,” Cunha explained. “This club is definitely among the best in the world. When Ruben acquainted me with the project of the club, I immediately wanted to accept that challenge. United is a club that I had to join.”
According to Cunha, who was in talks with several clubs, only Manchester United was in his mind all the time and no one else “It’s my dream club,” he continued. “The initial conversation that I had with Ruben made me sure that they were setting up something really great. I want to be here.”
Nowadays, he is not alone — Bryan Mbeumo is also at Old Trafford, but United is now busy with their transfers. Marcus Rashford has joined Barcelona on loan, while Antony, Garnacho, Sancho, and Malacia remain available for transfer.
