Kylian Mbappé has for some time now not been so open about his thoughts outside the game of football and only recently decided to share with us the difficulties he has been facing as one of the biggest stars of football.
With his breakthrough in Monaco as a mere teenager and then going to Real Madrid, the artist of the game and his personal life have always been tracked and documented in the minutest details. Now 26, Mbappé lets it be known that the sport has made him glow with success but he has really had to face the toughest realities very often behind the camera.
In an interview with L’Équipe, he talked about the fact that football has been his saving grace. “Life is magnificent. Football is football,” he said, indicating that fans who simply take pleasure in the spectacle are far from the less-flashing side of the sport. “If I didn’t have this fire in me, football would have bored me a long time ago.”
Mbappé has also recounted the hardship that comes with being in the limelight, with a lot of money and trust in the situation and confessed that friends often get complicated by success. “The more money you have, the more problems there will be,” he remarked and at the same time emphasized that the place of his true escape is the family and friends who were there for him before fame.
However, as it is, with all the issues he still keeps his faith in the sport unshakable passion keeps being the driving force of his career.
