Afrobeats singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has urged authorities to take action against prank videos following a recent altercation at Port Harcourt International Airport.
The incident unfolded after a video emerged showing Portable, dressed in beige, confronting an unidentified individual while surrounded by airport staff and onlookers. Security personnel in blue uniforms were seen intervening, guiding him away from the scene and toward a vehicle in the airport parking lot.
The 53-second clip shows pushing and shoving, with one person barefoot and another holding what appeared to be a belt or whip, as bystanders watched the chaotic scene.
In an Instagram video posted on Monday, Portable said he was the victim of so-called “death pranksters”—individuals who stage extreme, dangerous scenarios for online attention.
He stated in a mix of English and Yoruba: “Those people came to prank me. They were death pranksters. It almost turned to cultist level. 10 yellow no fit stand one blue,” emphasizing his composure during the ordeal.
Portable also accused the pranksters of tarnishing his reputation and appealed for divine protection.
He added: “Make Government stop all those Prankers And some fake Bloggers make them stop all this fake news post just because of small fame, why una dey spoil person wey get glory name with una Platforms.”
The singer, widely recognized for his hit single “Zazu Zeh,” has a history of controversies, including a time when the Nigerian Police declared him wanted.
