Grammy-winning Afrobeats star Burna Boy has opened up about the story behind his collaboration with rock icon Mick Jagger.
Appearing on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Burna Boy revealed that British supermodel Naomi Campbell was instrumental in bringing the two artists together.
“It’s actually crazy because it was initiated by Naomi Campbell, she made it happen. Before I knew it, I was talking to Mick Jagger, and it felt like we’d known each other forever,” he said.

The synergy between Burna Boy and Jagger is clear in their track “Empty Chairs,” which masterfully fuses Afrobeats grooves with classic rock elements.
The song is part of Burna Boy’s latest album, No Sign of Weakness, which was released on July 11, 2025.
