One of the game’s most legendary careers will be going as Cristiano Ronaldo confirmed that he is going to retire football in the next “one or two years.”

Via a video call at a global summit hosted in Saudi, the 40-year-old Al Nassr and Portugal forward lightened the mood by saying “soon” might also mean “10 years,” but he eventually conceded that he is getting to the final part of his career. “I feel very good right now. I am still scoring and feeling very sharp. But if we are to be honest, soon probably means one or two years,” he said.

“For 25 years, I gave my all to football. I am very proud of my journey and the things I have achieved,” he affirmed.

Besides, he talked about his son, Cristiano Jr., who plays for Portugal U16 team, as well. “I don’t want to put the pressure on him,” Ronaldo said. “I only want him to be happy – whether it is football or something ‍‌‍‍‌else.”
