Ace Nigerian rapper and YBNL boss Olamide has opened up about the significant influence the late Indigenous rap legend Dagrin had on his musical career.
In a recent video broadcast, Olamide acknowledged that Dagrin’s artistry played a huge role in inspiring him and many other rappers who came after him.

The rapper disclosed that he often turns to Dagrin’s classic album C.E.O. whenever he faces creative blocks.
According to him, “Dagrin’s ‘C.E.O’ album is a timeless project. That’s the only rap album almost everybody in the South West can sing word for word. Dagrin influenced a lot of rappers, whenever we need motivation, we would go and listen to his album.”
Dagrin tragically passed away in a car accident in April 2010, but his music has continued to resonate deeply with fans and artists alike, cementing his legacy in Nigeria’s rap culture.
