Afrobeats star Ayra Starr has officially revealed that she has relocated to New York City as part of her push to expand her global footprint.

The 23-year-old singer shared that she has been living in the U.S. for under two months and is already settling in comfortably.

She explained that New York’s fast-paced lifestyle and vibrant cultural atmosphere closely mirror Lagos, making the adjustment easier.

During a recent video interview, Ayra Starr said the city’s energy immediately reminded her of home. She added that the strong African and Nigerian communities in New York have helped her feel grounded.

“New York reminds me so much of Lagos. So it feels like home. There are a lot of Nigerians here. There’s a huge African diaspora here, so it feels like home,” she said.
