Nollywood star Nkechi Blessing Sunday has disclosed that she successfully arrested the woman who secretly recorded her in a gym, sparking widespread body-shaming and online ridicule earlier in the year.
Speaking on a trending episode of the Honest Brunch Podcast, the actress recounted how she traced the individual responsible for filming her without consent during a workout session.
She explained that her initial attempts to get information from the gym were ignored, prompting her to take matters into her own hands.

“iFitness hid her information from me… I found her. I got her arrested, of course,” she stated, expressing frustration over the invasion of her privacy and her determination to ensure accountability.
Before discussing the arrest, Blessing defended her natural physique while calling out those who mocked her appearance after the unflattering footage circulated.
Addressing comparisons between surgically enhanced bodies and natural ones, she said: “You get BBL, you dey snap me wey get natural body. Are you stupid, sis?”
The actress emphasised that her gym attire has always been about comfort, not public approval. “This is who I have been. I wear the clothes that make me feel comfortable. I’m not trying to hide from nobody,” she said, adding that she has no intention of pretending to look flawless during intense workouts.
Nkechi Blessing became a major topic online after a gym photo and video—captured without her permission—spread across social media, showing her looking tired and bare-faced. The images triggered criticism and comparisons to her polished Instagram posts.
In earlier reactions, she clarified on Instagram that the gym is strictly for fitness, not beauty contests. According to her, the goal is to “stay fit and healthy, not for a fashion show,” noting that looking exhausted after exercise is completely normal.
Although she initially chose to leave the matter “in the hands of God,” Blessing has now taken legal steps and has also turned the experience into a movement for body positivity. She recently launched an online challenge encouraging women with big stomachs to confidently embrace their natural bodies.
