Popular Nigerian gospel singer Sola Allyson has opened up about the state of her marriage, revealing that she and her husband no longer share the same home.
The 54-year-old artiste, who rose to fame with her hit love-themed album Eji Owuro, spoke about her personal journey during an interview on Oyinmomo TV. While discussing her relationship, she admitted that although she is still married, she does not live with her spouse.
“I’m married, but I’m not in my husband’s house. We live separately,” she said, shedding light on the challenges she has faced in her union.
When the interviewer sought to know whether she experienced true love from her husband, considering the emotions expressed in Eji Owuro, Allyson offered a candid response.

The interviewer asked, “You sang ‘Eji Owuro’, did you experience genuine love from your husband?”
She replied, “We lied before. Those older than us didn’t inform us that it’s tough. They made us believe that so long as you both love each other, you will live happily ever after, but it’s a lie. That’s not the experience I have. I didn’t have the experience of living happily ever after. I did all I could to make it work.”
Her remarks offered a heartfelt glimpse into her marital struggles and the realities behind the romantic narratives many people grow up believing.
