Nigerian culinary personality Damilola Adeparusi, widely known as Chef Dammy, has taken a major step forward in her cooking career after successfully earning a Professional Culinary Art Chef Diploma from the Hospitality Business School (HBS) in Lagos.

Her journey through the programme was fully funded by a scholarship jointly provided by Horecabb Mentors, food entrepreneur Ofadaboy, and the Ekiti State government, allowing the Ekiti-born chef to receive formal training from one of the country’s leading hospitality institutions.

This achievement comes nearly two years after she first captured public attention with her June 2023 cook-a-thon attempt, which placed her name firmly in Nigeria’s culinary spotlight.

Celebrating her graduation in a post shared on Instagram, Chef Dammy expressed deep appreciation to those who supported her progress, saying, “It’s safe to say Chef Dammy is officially a professional chef. Grateful to have graduated from the best hospitality school in Nigeria, first in Africa and among the top 10 in the world. Cheers to the grace of God and the favor of men that have brought me this far.”

She continued by offering prayers for everyone who contributed to her success: “To everything we’ve achieved in 2025, and to the even greater things ahead. God bless HBS. @hbshotelschool_lagos. God bless my sponsors. God bless my supporters. God bless Nigeria. And God bless me.”

The full scholarship package also included five additional specialised courses designed to equip students with the skills needed to emerge as well-rounded chefs, according to the institution.
