Nollywood actress Biodun Okeowo has expressed concern over how swiftly news of Yoruba actress Allwell Ademola’s reported death circulated online.
On Saturday night, reports emerged claiming that Ademola had passed away, allegedly from a heart attack.
Some industry colleagues, including Damola Olatunji, Mr Latin, Faithia Williams, and Bidemi Kosoko, took to social media to mourn the actress.

However, Okeowo appeared unsettled by how quickly the news was shared. On her Instagram page, she revealed that Ademola’s mother had not yet been informed of her daughter’s passing at the time people were posting RIP messages.
In her post, she wrote:
“Those of you who are so quick to post bad news and put up pictures, hope you know she has a mother who is not aware yet.”
She also criticized the trend of rushing to share tragic news, noting that people seem faster to announce deaths than to celebrate achievements. Okeowo added that such actions demonstrate a lack of sensitivity toward family members who might still be unaware of the situation.
Her remarks have sparked discussions online, with many agreeing that death announcements should be handled with greater care, particularly when close relatives are involved.
The reported passing of Allwell Ademola adds to a series of losses in Nollywood this year, a trend that continues to impact fans and colleagues alike.
