The body in charge of football in Europe, UEFA, has made public their team for the 2021/2022 season. The team consists of11 players, one goalkeeper, four defenders, three midfielders, and three strikers. The team had four players each from Real Madrid, the winners of the UEFA champions league of the season, and Liverpool, the runner-up team. Chelsea, Manchester City, and Paris Saint-German also had one player each on the team.
For the goalkeeper position, Thibaut Courtois, Real Madrid’s goalkeeper took the position. He is noted for his 10/10 performance in the matches of the champions league, especially the final match. The defense position saw Anthonio Rudiger from Chelsea and Virgil Van dijk from Liverpool taking the center-back position, Trent Alexander-Arnold from Liverpool taking the right-back position, and Andrew Robertson from Liverpool taking the Left back position.
The midfield was occupied by players like Kevin De Bruyne from Manchester City who won the Premier League player of the season award, Fabinho from Liverpool, and Luka Modric from Real Madrid.
The forward position had Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain on the right-wing, Karim Benzema from Real Madrid in the center-forward, and Vinicius Junior from Real Madrid on the left-wing. Karim Benzema won the player of the season award, while Vinicius Junior won the young player of the season award.
The team was chosen as UEFA’s Technical Observer panel after the careful observance of the players’ performances in the 2021/22 UEFA Champions League.
