American pop star Britney Spears has reportedly sold her stake in her music catalogue to publishing company Primary Wave in what has been described as a “landmark” agreement.

According to TMZ, the deal was finalised on December 30, 2025, although the financial details were not officially disclosed. However, a source revealed that the amount is believed to be in the same range as Justin Bieber’s reported $200 million deal with Hipgnosis Songs Capital in 2023.

The catalogue reportedly covers many of Spears’ biggest and most iconic records, including ‘(You Drive Me) Crazy,’ ‘…Baby One More Time,’ ‘Break The Ice,’ ‘Circus,’ ‘Don’t Let Me Be the Last to Know,’ and ‘Everytime.’

Other songs in the package are ‘Gimme More,’ ‘Hold It Against Me,’ ‘I Wanna Go,’ ‘If U Seek Amy,’ ‘I’m a Slave 4 U,’ ‘I’m Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman,’ and ‘Lucky.’

Also featured are ‘My Prerogative,’ ‘Oops!… I Did It Again,’ ‘Overprotected,’ ‘Piece of Me,’ ‘Sometimes,’ ‘Stronger,’ ‘Till The World Ends,’ ‘Toxic,’ and ‘Womanizer.’

Popularly known as the “Princess of Pop,” Spears is widely regarded as one of the most influential cultural icons of the 21st century and is credited with playing a major role in reviving teen pop music on the global stage.

With this transaction, the 44-year-old singer joins a growing list of top artists who have sold their music rights in recent years, including Justin Bieber, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Justin Timberlake, and Shakira.

Primary Wave has established itself as a major player in music publishing acquisitions, having previously secured rights linked to the estates of legendary acts such as Notorious B.I.G., Prince, and Whitney Houston.
