Socialite and entrepreneur Cubana Chief Priest has appealed to people of the South-East to rally behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, arguing that political support for the President could help facilitate the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
He made the call while reacting to a viral video of the Igwe of Ezema Olo, Dr Lawrence Agubuzo, who had visited Abuja to appeal directly to Tinubu over Kanu’s continued detention.
In the footage, the monarch pleaded with the President to “hear our cry” regarding the release of the IPOB leader.

Sharing the video on his social media page, Cubana Chief Priest praised the royal father’s intervention and stressed the importance of constructive engagement with the federal government.
“The message is very clear. God bless Your Royal Highness for partaking in Nigeria’s future. If His Highness had not gone to Abuja, how would Asiwaju have received this message?” he wrote.
The celebrity barman further urged the South-East to embrace political alignment, noting that confrontation would not yield positive results.
“We cannot fight the government. If Asiwaju frees MNK, the Igwe has already paved the way. Let’s get along with Nigeria. Tinubu won the last election without the South-East,” he said.
“He will win again, so why not give him our votes so he can do what we ask in return? Hopefully, he will hand over power to an Igbo man.”
Cubana Chief Priest also highlighted Tinubu’s political strength, urging the region to be strategic in its decisions.
“He has the best political structure in the country to win elections. The Igbo’s best stake is on Asiwaju. Let’s think it through and not waste our votes,” he added.
