United States President Donald Trump has spoken openly about his admiration for US-based Trinidadian rapper and singer Nicki Minaj, praising her personality, beauty, and political awareness during a White House event marking Black History Month in Washington, D.C.
While addressing guests at the programme, Trump shared his excitement about Minaj, who recently visited the White House. He described the music star as stunning and deeply informed about national issues.
“How about Nicki Minaj? Do we love Nicki Minaj? I love Nicki Minaj. She was here a couple weeks ago. She’s so beautiful,” he said.
Recalling their interaction, Trump added, “I said, ‘Nicki, you’re so beautiful.’ Her nails are like that long, I said, ‘Nicki are they real?’ She didn’t want to get into that. But she was so beautiful and so great and she gets it, more importantly.”
In recent weeks, Nicki Minaj has continued to show strong public support for Trump. On Presidents’ Day, she shared a post featuring an AI-generated image of herself riding in a convertible with him while counting money. She also appeared as a keynote speaker at the Trump-backed World Liberty Forum event, taking part in a panel titled “Owning the Culture: The Business of Music in a Creator-Led Economy.”
The rapper first met Trump in January at the Trump Accounts Summit in Washington, D.C., where she openly declared her loyalty to him.
“I am probably the president’s No. 1 fan,” Minaj said. “And that’s not going to change. What people have to say, it does not affect me at all. It actually motivates me to support him more. And it’s going to motivate all of us to support him more.”
She further stated, “We’re not going to let them get away with bullying him. And you know, the smear campaigns. It’s not going to work. He has a lot of force behind him and God is protecting him.”
Despite facing criticism from sections of the public, Minaj has remained consistent in her support for the Trump administration. Earlier this month, during an interview with podcaster Katie Miller, she explained that seeing the backlash Trump faced pushed her to become more vocal in his defence.
“Religious freedom is something that’s very important to me, but if I’m being honest, President Trump,” she said. “When I saw how he was being treated, over and over and over, I just couldn’t handle it.”
