Kyle Walker has retired from playing for England after being on the team for 14 years. The defender, who’s with Burnley FC now, played for England 96 times.
He first played in a friendly game against Spain back in 2011.“Over time, Walker really became known as one of the most dependable defenders for the Three Lions.”He couldn’t play in UEFA Euro 2012 or the 2014 FIFA World Cup because of injuries, but after that, Walker was in the next five big tournaments.

He was a big part of England getting to the semi-finals in the 2018 World Cup. He also helped them make it to the finals of the UEFA Euro tournaments in both 2020 and 2024.
Walker mentioned that it was a huge honor to play for England, and choosing to stop now helps him officially end his international playing days. Thomas Tuchel, the manager of England, really talked up the defender. He said the guy was one of England’s best ever, and he specifically mentioned how dedicated he’d been through five big tournaments. Walker played his last game for England in a friendly match against Senegal last year.
