Mohamed Salah has declared that this will be his last season at Liverpool. Thus, the Egyptian forward’s splendid run of nine years at Anfield will be ending.

Since his arrival at the Reds from AS Roma in 2017, the forward has been a key figure in the team’s success and his decision was only revealed after making a tearful post on social media. Salah even confessed that it was really hard deciding but in the end, he has to face this challenge as, for him, Liverpool was never a mere football club but a place where he made his life and earned his career.

Mohamed Salah Announces Liverpool Exit at End of Season

On Merseyside, the Egyptian scored as many as 255 goals in 453 outings, thereby securing himself a place among Liverpool’s legends. His efforts on the pitch brought Liverpool glory as the club won two Premier League titles and the UEFA Champions League, among other things, and in the process, he became the third highest scorer in the club’s history.

Though he penned a deal keeping him at the club until 2027, lately, the player’s future has been a matter of concern due to the team’s poor showing in the league under the new boss, Arne Slot. At 31 years, he has managed to score five goals and make six assists in 22 league outings this season.

Then, Salah expressed his gratitude towards the supporters who always stood by him and said he would “always be one of you” as Liverpool are still fighting for a place in the Champions League spots.
