Tottenham Hotspur announced that they have hired Roberto De Zerbi as their head coach to steer the club away from the potential relegation shock from the Premier League.
After the exit of interim manager Igor Tudor, who was in charge for just 44 days, De Zerbi will be the new coach. The Italian, who was recently the coach of Olympique de Marseille, has signed a long-term contract in north London.
Spurs are currently just one point clear of the drop zone after failing to register a league win in 2026, and 7 matches still to be played in the season.“I am very happy to become part of this wonderful football club, “ De Zerbi said as he highlighted his faith in the club’s long-term vision and their type of football-centered philosophy.

This 46-year-old gained recognition for his work at Brighton & Hove Albion, where he helped the team qualify for Europe and reach an FA Cup semi-final.
Even though they have a modern stadium and strong financial power, Tottenham could be relegated for the first time since 1977- 78, which would be a huge drop for a club that was at the Champions League final in 2019.
