Bernardo Silva has confirmed that he will be leaving Manchester City after the end of the season, thus ending a wonderful nine-year journey at the club.

31-year-old midfielder who transferred to City from AS Monaco in 2017, has been a major part of one of the most successful periods in the club’s history. During his spell in Manchester, Silva has made 451 appearances, placing him sixth on the club’s all-time list, and at the same time, he has been a driving force behind the team winning multiple major titles.

In a heartfelt goodbye note, Silva looked back on his path and how he described the move to City as a realization of a childhood dream. He pointed out the main accomplishments like the “Centurions” season, the historic domestic quadruple, the UEFA Champions League win, and four straight Premier League titles.

The Portuguese star also revealed that his time in Manchester has been very important to him on a personal level, as the city changed his life in many ways outside the football pitch, including the start of a family.

Graduated from SL Benfica’s academy, Silva kicked off his career in Portugal before making it big in France with Monaco. After establishing himself as one of City’s most impactful players in recent history, he is now about to start a new adventure.

As club captain, Silva has played 44 times this season, netting three goals and providing five assists.
