At the O2 London concert on Saturday night, Billie Eilish, an American singer, shortly halted her show after several concert-goers got into difficulties because of the high temperature in the arena. Billie’s fans took matters into their hands creating a protective circle and turning on their phone’s flashlights to alert di security at the arena after it was noticed that a fellow was in trouble. Billie Eilish quickly dispatched the members of the security to share water to the distressed crowd.
She then proceeded to check up on her fans, asking them if they were okay and to give each other some space and keep an eye out for one another for signs of fainting and fatigue. The singer has been known to briefly halt her shows in emergencies like this. Like in February, after she noticed that one of her fans was struggling to breathe, she paused her Happier Than Ever tour happening in Atlanta and only carried on with the show when an inhaler was provided for the fan. Another example was when in her New York show held in Madison Square Garden, she told concert goers to sit down to take a breath if they wanted to.
The issue of crowd safety during concerts has become highlighted after 10 individuals were killed during a stampede crush at Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival last year in Houston.
