Donald Trump received a cool reception at Madison Square Garden on Monday as the New York Knicks were defeated 115-111 by the San Antonio Spurs, meaning the Spurs pulled one back in Game 3 of the NBA Finals.
The US President became the first sitting US President to have attended an NBA Final but was jeered by parts of the crowd as he was shown on the screen at Madison Square Garden during the national anthem.

Trump, his granddaughter Kai Trump, and several members of his staff, as well as the owner of the Knicks, James Dolan, were at the event; though the president stated that it was the fans’ cheers that made up the overall atmosphere. “I think that was mostly cheers”, the President reported after the game.
The visit saw unprecedented amounts of police and Secret Service officers, as all roads around the Garden were blocked off, causing considerable traffic delays as thousands lined up in the streets surrounding the arena.
This means that Knicks fans are now concerned that their appearance at the first NBA Finals since 1999 might not be so memorable. Also present at the game were several celebrities, including Ben Stiller, Tina Fey and Timothe Chalamet.
