Atletico Madrid chief has responded to talk that Julian Alvarez will join Barca this summer, and he has not held back at all. News has been abuzz of various clubs chasing the Argentine forward, who would still fit under the category of having to ‘try and force’ a move. Alvarez could be a name on the wish lists of several European elite such as Barca, Arsenal and PSG.

Madrid made a massive offer of 150million for the forward, and has also apparently ‘been rejected’ by the Rojiblancos as well.

“Alvarez’s attitude during the World Cup was frankly alarming from a Real Madrid fan and an Atletico fan both”, claims source: “If he goes on to perform with his Argentina team at the World Cup, then it will probably see him force another move.”

When questioned after the team’s recent World Cup triumph, Gil Marin didn’t beat about the bush. “Julian has spoken to us, but he knows our position very clearly, Atletico do not want to transfer him,” he told EFE. However, he went on to hammer Barcelona with some choice words of his own.

He slammed Barca, claiming they, “Disrespected us, ‘Barca’ think they are walking us. The team ‘barca’ are showing world the style they work.”

The Argentine has really stepped up since joining Atletico Madrid from Man City, making a name for himself as one of the star players this season. He has bagged an unbelievable 49 goals in 106 outings for ‘ los Colchoneros’, as well as 17 assists.

His current deal is believed to contain a release clause of 500million euros, and despite being heavily interested in a transfer for their star man, Atletico appear dead set on ensuring their striker remains at Wanda Metropolitano for another season.
