Matheus Cunha scored a late equaliser as Manchester United came from behind to draw 1-1 with Fulham at Craven Cottage.
Having been on top for much of an enjoyable first half, United could not find a way through – Fernandes’ cross-cum-shot hitting the post and a smart save from Leno denying Martinez.
Larned and Berge threatened to snatch a victory in the first half, but nine minutes after the break Fulham finally found a way through courtesy of an own goal, Bassey robbing Cunha before playing a ball into the box which Lammens saved, but this time Martinez deflected into his own net.
Full credit to Fulham, who kept working, Leno denying Cunha and Mbeumo as several off targets followed, but Cunha finally got United’s equaliser in the 86th minute after a heavy deflection off Affengruber.
Fulham looked like holding on for just a second win in 22 meetings with United, but the visitors finally found a way through with a heavily deflected long-range shot from Cunha.
Fulham sit 1st after failing to win any of their first five league games.
