Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury will get into a ring for boxing against each other for the first time, as these two British heavyweights meet under the arena lights of Cardiff Principality Stadium on December 11.
This much anticipated British vs British fight, which has been rumored for over ten years, will be shown on Netflix worldwide.
Josua and Fury, having both signed the contracts earlier this year, were just missing the date and venue. Now Wembley Stadium and New York’s Madison Square Garden being the two main venues, Cardiff was finalised as the host city.
The fight will be co-promoted by Saudi boxing influencer Turki Alalshikh’s The Ring with UFC head Dana White.
“Finally the ring meeting of two of the greatest heavies of this era, Alalshikh declared.
“This fight is going to be one of the biggest ever in boxing history. I am very happy to get this fight together to the satisfaction of the audience.”
The start of the match is yet to be announced, but it is being considered by the event organisers to be a late night start over here in the UK so that America viewers aren’t late to see it.
Joshua had wanted to hold the match in Britain, so his preference is going to be the case.
The past two-time world champions will have the final phase of their rivalry started at the time by a press conference in London on September 30.
White said the two of the boxing pair will come into the fight with a record of 66 wins, 52 KOs, and numerous world championship belts with the one who will walk out of the arena will have the title of Heavyweight champion history solidified through him.
