Manchester City after claims that members of the club’s management have talked about ousting the CITYZENS for their apparent financial rule-breaking.
City was guilty of numerous breaches of the financial rules spanning from 2009 to 2018, but the club is contesting the ruling and has kept faith in its stance. No sanctions have been handed down and the Premier League is awaiting the conclusion of the process.
An expulsion of a club from membership is provided for by Rule B.6 if a special resolution is approved by not less than three-quarters of eligible members attending and voting at a general meeting.
In other words, 15 clubs may be able to decide to eject City, provided the necessary voting processes are followed.

There are claims that there have been talks between club executives about the integrity of the competition and its reputation, reported The Independent.
One chief executive was said to have expressed concern that the episode could undermine confidence in the Premier League and urged its board to defend the competition’s reputation.
Yet the club is unlikely to be getting out anytime soon, especially not while the appeal is in the process, as any efforts to dismiss the City could lead to subsequent legal issues and exacerbate their feud.
A timeline for the final resolution of City’s appeal is of paramount importance, with the report indicating that 23 January 2027 could be a date by which it is resolved.
We will not know what is going to happen to City or what impact the financial case may have until the process comes to an end.
