The Moroccan side is very excited as they qualified for the FIFA Women’s World Cup to be held in Australia, New Zealand on Wednesday after a victorious 2-1 win over Botswana in the second quarter-finals of the Africa Women’s Cup of Nations. Morocco is now officially qualified for the World Cup, which is their first qualification ever.
All thanks to Sanaa Massoudy, who scored the first goal in the 3rd minute. Keitumetse Dithebe equalized four minutes later for the Botswana team.
All hopes were no lost for the Moroccan team as Vasmin Mrbet scored another goal, the Botswana team’s failure to equalize again saw the Moroccan team win the game.
Just yesterday, Zambia qualified for the Women’s World Cup after beating Senegalese team Copper Queens 4-3 to become the first team to qualify for the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Today the Super Falcons meet Cameroon, South Africa, and Tunisia in the Quarterfinals.
Expectations are high for the Super Falcons.
