At the 3,500-seat Palais des Sports Treichville in Abidjan on Friday night during the 2022 FIBA World Cup African Qualifiers, Nigeria’s D’Tigers suffered a defeat to Ivory Coast, endangering their chances of qualifying for the tournament. The two sides’ third recent matchup took place on Friday. 

Vefessa Fofana put on a dominant effort for Ivory Coast as they defeated D’Tigres 66-78 despite Josh Okogie scoring 23 points and Vefessa Fofana leading the team in scoring with 25 points.
