The decomposing body of a landlord discovered in his bedroom at Awotan, Apete area of Ibadan, according to the police in Oyo State, is being investigated by the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID). Recall that after a protracted search, some Awotan Community residents found the landlord’s skeleton in his bedroom. The landlord was later identified as Aderemi Abiola. The deceased’s decomposing body was discovered lying up and adhering to his mattress.

According to information obtained by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) from locals, the deceased was last seen four years ago. It was also learned that the late Mr. Abiola periodically traveled from Abuja to Ibadan and had no relationships with the locals.

Adewale Osifeso, the police public relations officer for Oyo State, spoke and said that Adebowale William, the state’s commissioner of police, had sent a team of forensic and criminal investigators to the deceased’s residence.

To determine the reason for his death, Mr. Osifeso said that the Commissioner of Police also ordered the urgent transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), the command’s top investigative body.

In the interest of public health and safety, he claimed, the location of the occurrence had since been sealed off to allow the detective to conduct a thorough investigation targeted at determining the potential cause of the death.

According to Mr. Osifeso, members from the Landlord Association of Idi-Orogbo, Adeosun, Life Forte Area, Awotan, and Apete in Ibadan informed the command about the event.

He claimed that initial information from neighborhood residents and the dead driver’s license discovered in his wallet identified the deceased as Aderemi Abiola.

The deceased was last seen roughly four years ago, according to the investigation, the police spokeswoman stated, which was confirmed by the deceased’s family.

Mr. Osifeso claims that the police commissioner appealed to well-intentioned citizens for help in gathering important details concerning the incident. He assured the public that detailed updates will be supplied in accordance and stated that the situation would be constantly monitored.

It should be recalled that the residents of the Awotan village learned about the tragedy when they were clearing the deceased’s overgrown compound after getting permission from the police to enter the house and do so.

The workers hired to clean up the compound discovered that a window in one of the rooms was open and decided to peek inside, only to find the deceased’s completely decayed body inside.
