After Russia launched missiles into Ukrainian cities on Monday, the International Committee of the Red Cross and at least one other humanitarian organization temporarily suspended their field operations in Ukraine for security considerations.
With a ferocity not seen since Russian forces attempted to seize the capital early in the more than seven-month war, Russia attacked targets across the nation, including the capital Kyiv.
Moscow claims that the attacks were carried out in reprisal for what it defines as terrorist attacks against energy, command, and communication targets.
As a precaution, until it is safe to continue, the Norwegian Refugee Council likewise announced that it has ceased its relief operations in Ukraine.
The U.N. refugee agency’s operations continued, according to a spokesperson, with staff taking cover during air raids.
