The Federal Government on Monday, 17 October issued a new travel advisory to Nigerians, looking for job opportunities in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus internationally recognized as the Republic of Cyprus.
The Nigerian government had also issued a similar warning in August this year after reports had surfaced on the killing of Nigerians and other foreign nationals in the de facto state that includes the North-East portion of the island of Cyprus.
In a statement given by the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Francisca Omayuli, the federal government had cautioned Nigerians to be careful of fraudsters.
The government had also cautioned parents as well as Nigerian students to carry out proper checks on any admission or job advertisements before they venture into them, as these incidents have led to quite a number stranded Nigerians.
