Emmanuel Amuneke, a former super eagles winger, has advised The Five African teams to do well at the 2023 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, than what they did at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

No African team progressed past the group stages at the 2018 World Cup in Russia,

According to him, the five teams have all tested their strength and understand that they need to make it to the knockout stages. He also that this year’s world cup is an opportunity to correct the fact that none of the African teams made it past the group stages in the 2018 world cup.

“The five teams have been tested enough in recent friendlies and they know they must come out of the group before thinking of a semi-final ticket,” Amuneke said of Africa’s five representatives at the 2022 FIFA World Cup; Senegal, Ghana, Cameroon, Morocco, and Tunisia.”

“One step at a time will do. The tournament in Qatar is a great opportunity for African teams to fix what happened in Russia when no teams progressed to the second round,” Amuneke who represented the Super Eagles of Nigeria at the USA ’94 World Cup stated.

The World Cup game officially kicks off on November 20 and Dec 18.
