Dr. Oliver Agundu, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Plateau State, has returned to work in Jos.

The management and personnel, under the direction of the Administrative Secretary, Mrs. Caroline Okpe, are waiting to greet him at the state’s Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office.

Agundu commanded staff employees to carry out their responsibilities with the utmost honesty and in accordance with the Constitution, the Electoral Act, and other pertinent laws governing their behavior.

He enlisted their help to avoid doing anything that would put them in the public eye for the wrong reasons in order to maintain the commission’s positive reputation.

The INEC employees vowed their unwavering support in achieving the REC’s mission in the state.

He claimed that Nigerians are proud of INEC because they are more politically aware and prepared to participate in the electoral process to determine their future. As a result, he said, the staff must put in a lot of effort to ensure that the people have a credible election for future generations.

The administrative secretary, who had been the acting REC before his arrival, as well as the other Heads of Department, provided the REC with handover notes and briefs (HODs).

Along with 18 other people, Agundu, a native of Benue State, was sworn in on November 3, 2022, and assigned to the Plateau. He took Halilu Pai’s place.
