The Muslim Rights Concern, MURIC has asked Nigerian Muslims to boycott all private universities owned and directed by Christians for failing to allow the use of hijab and for s other reasons the Muslim group has tagged as anti-Islamic.

Prof. Ishaq Akintola, the Director of MURIC, made the call in a statement on Thursday, November 24. Akintola had said that they 9The Muslim rights organization) had received multiple allegations from Muslim students studying at various Christian varsities, about how they were forced to attend churches and engage in specific religious actions not allowed in Islam.

Additionally, he had also accused Christian university proprietors of religious intolerance and identity theft.

A concluding part of the statement read:

“We ask Muslim students and their parents to boycott Christian private universities until the time that the Nigerian Universities Commission, NUC, will sanitize them or till the Christian owners of private universities have eschewed religious bigotry and learned to live and let live.”
