The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPC, has stated that the fuel queues in Lagos State and Abuja were as a result of various construction projects ongoing in the state.

The NNPC Executive Vice President, Downstream, Adeyemi Adetunju, had made this known while speaking at a news conference in Abuja on Tuesday, November 28.

According to Adetunju, the fuel gridlock was gradually easing out and NNPC had already stationed vessels and trucks to unconstrained depots and massive load outs from the depots to various states are being closely watched.

He had then assured Nigerians that efforts to ensure that normalcy returns as soon as possible were being deployed.

He had said, “We want to reassure all Nigerians that NNPC has enough products, and we greatly increased product loading to include 24-hour operations in selected depots and have extended hours at strategic stations to ensure products sufficiency nationwide.”

“We are also working with the other industry stakeholders such as NMDPRA, MOMAN, DAPPMAN, IPMAN, NARTO, PTD to ensure normalcy is returned.”
