NANS Stages Protest Over Fuel Price Hike and Scarcity in the Country.

The National Association of Nigerian Students, the Southwest (Zone D) has threatened to embark on a protest and shut down all filling stations located in the Southwest region.

The student body had promised to close down any filling station selling above the normal pump price of N180, if concerned authorities fail to intervene before the situation goes out of control.

The association had also criticized the untold hardship and agony brought upon Nigerians, especially on Nigerian students by the increase of fuel pump price from N180 to N450 in Southwest Nigeria as a case study.

All these were contained in a statement issued on Wednesday, November 30 and was jointly signed by the Coordinator, NANS Southwest (Zone D), Emmanuel Olatunji, the Deputy Coordinator, Alao John and the Public Relations Officer of the Zone, Awoyinfa Opeoluwa.

The statement partly reads,
