The Enugu State Police Command has disregarded a widely circulated video asking employees to leave their duty station and remain confined in the state’s barracks as unsubstantiated, deceptive, and misleading.
This was said in a statement made by DSP Daniel Ndukwe, the Command’s spokesman, on Monday in Enugu.
For the avoidance of doubt, he stated that the police commissioner “did not at any point give such orders, commanding employees of the Command to abdicate their duties and be confined to barracks, as reported and being circulated.”
He said that none of the Commissioner’s direct lieutenants were authorized to issue the same.
According to the spokesman for the Command, the commissioner had urged the populace to ignore such an unfounded claim.
He stated that the Command remained committed to carrying out its responsibilities in a professional manner daily following the Nigeria Police Force’s statutory mandates.
