Popular Filmmaker and founder of the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMMA), Peace Anyiam Osigwe is dead. She passed on Monday 9th of January 2023 in St Nicolas Hospital Lagos, after a brief illness, which kept her in a coma since Saturday.
Her passing was confirmed by Legendary filmmaker Zik Zulu “Our President, Peace, has passed. As of Saturday, she was reported to be in a coma at Saint Nicholas. But now her family has confirmed her transition. May the memory of her life be a blessing. Rest in peace, dear Peace, he writes on a Nollywood platform.”
Notable film Director and producer Obi Emelonye, also confirmed her passing on his
Instagram page.
Her family has also confirmed her passing, as they released a statement, stating that
they’ll communicate her burial arrangements to the public, but for now, everyone should respect their privacy and allow them to grieve their loss.
The African movie industry will miss this jewel who has contributed immensely to the movie industry.
