Aggrieved Nigerians have taken to social media to demand the arrest and prosecution of a man seen in a viral video giving a baby a smoking substance suspected to be a cigarette.
In the video, the yet-to-be-identified man was seen sharing the smoking substance with the infant.
A Twitter user, president Ikemba while sharing the video had said, “When and how did we get here as a society? Egbon, @Princemoye1 please we need this guy prosecuted and the accomplice too.”
While reacting to the development, the Nigerian Police Force Spokesperson,
Olumuyiwa Adejobi likened the issue to moral decadence in Nigeria.
In his words, “Now, you will agree with me, to an extent, that our problems in Nigeria are highly connected to social decadence. Every problem in Nigeria today is tailored to either one societal issue or the other. If we address our societal problems, our general problems in Nigeria are at least 80% solved.”
“Until an arrest is made, we won’t know what happened. The mother probably was not there. I gave an analogy that it might be the mother’s sister who even took the baby to visit her boyfriend.”
“He must be caused to face the wrath of the law. This is too bad. But above all, mothers must learn from this. Ire o.” His tweet finished.
At the time of writing this report, an arrest is yet to be made.
