The Edo State government has just announced an extension of its free bus service by all Edo City Transport Service buses to all its routes until Friday, February 24.
According to the statement made by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media Projects, Crusoe Osagie, the state government remarked that the extension became necessary because the cash crunch experienced by the people in the state was still critical and did not seem to be ending anytime soon.
The statement read:
“While the State government heightens efforts to bring a lasting solution to the present crises, the government calls on the people to remain calm and law-abiding as normalcy will soon be restored.”
Recall that the Edo state government had on February 16 introduced a five-day free bus service to operate until February 20 to help alleviate the suffering of residents as the unavailability of the new naira worsens in the country.
