The issue of Nigeria and unknown gunmen have become a daily occurrence, and sometimes Security Operatives lose their lives while trying to protect citizens from these unknown Gunmen. The Zamfara state Police Command has confirmed the killing of SP Kazeem the Divisional Police officer in charge of Mary Local Government Area of the State, and also Inspector Rabiu Umar, who was killed by some Gunmen on Saturday.
This news was confirmed by SP Mohammed Shehu, the spokesperson of the States command in a Statement, according to the statement, the Gunmen came prepared as they were armed with all sophisticated weapons with the mission to destroy the Police station of the town to have free access to perpetrate evil on the community.
However, they were able to overpower the DPO who gallantly resisted the attack but was killed alongside the inspector.
The statement said, “On March 5, 2023, around 2 am, gunmen in large numbers, armed with sophisticated weapons attacked Maru Division with intent to destabilize the security architecture of the town to easily attack and abduct members of the community.
“However, the late DPO and team gallantly put up a strong resistance to repel the attackers.
“The Commissioner of Police has deployed reinforcement to pursue the fleeing hoodlums and arrest them for investigation and prosecution.”
The statement further confirmed that the Commissioner of police have deployed some men to the community to arrest the hoodlums.
