The Nigerian Federal Government is yet to release the withheld salaries of the members of the Congress of Nigerian Universities Academics, CONUA, two months after they had requested the details of the members.
CONUA, a rival union of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU had in December 2022, threatened to sue the Federal Government in court over the withheld salaries of its members.
In its statement, it reiterated that its members were not part of the strike embarked upon by ASUU between February and October 2022.
Speaking to our correspondent in Abuja on Saturday, Dr. Niyi Sunmonu, the union’s president revealed that its members were still awaiting payment.
