Nigerian roads are plagued with all manner of evils, either we hear of kidnappers or news of armed robbery, or cases of bad roads, it just never ends.
The report has it that three passengers sustained serious injuries after some Gunmen opened fire on their vehicle along Ado-Akure road on Monday evening.
The vehicle conveying six passengers was ambushed by these miscreants who opened fire on the vehicle, three of the passengers managed to escape but no one can say what happened to the rest three, it is believed that they were taken into the bush by these miscreants.
This incident has been confirmed by the Police spokesperson for Ekiti state, Sunday Abutu. According to him, it was an armed robbery incident, as they have not recurved any call for ransom for the rest travelers, however, they are still investigating the incident.
Meanwhile, those injured in the attack are receiving medical attention in the hospital
Abutu said, “It was not a kidnapping incident, though we are still investigating the attack because we are looking at an attempted armed robbery.
“About three persons were injured in the attack and we have not received a report of any of the travelers kidnapped. Those that were affected are receiving treatment in hospital and investigation has commenced as directed by the state Commissioner of Police, Dare Ogundare, to ensure that those who perpetrated the act are brought to book.”
