The Recording Academy has added three new award categories to the 2024 Grammy Awards and one of them includes the Best African Music Performance.
This announcement was made via a press release on Tuesday, June 13.
The annual awards show will now feature the new categories of: Best African Music Performance, Best Alternative Jazz Album and Best Pop Dance Recording, for the 2024 Awards.
The Best African Music Performance Award category will recognize music recordings that use unique local expressions from across the African continent in genres including: Afrobeat, Afro-fusion and Bongo Flava.
The date for the 2024 Grammy Awards is, however, yet to be announced.
