Leading Cross River State Is No Easy Task – Gov Otu Reveals

The governor of Calabar State, Bassey Otu has remarked that it was imperative for him to go spiritual in the onerous task of presiding over the state.

Otu had stated this on Sunday, July 9, at the inaugural edition of the state’s Interdenominational Solemn Assembly held at the Calabar International Conference Centre, CICC.

According to the governor, managing the affairs of the state was a demanding task.

In his words;

“Piloting the affairs of the state is a difficult task. This is why we ought to seek the face and direction of the Author of wisdom to help move the state forward.

“Alone, I and the people you have elected to represent your interests will not be able to do this. We all have to come together to build the state of our dream.”

He had then proceeded to ask the residents of the state to join him in the journey of a spiritual renaissance as he repositioned the state.

“This is the time for us to build this state. What is very important to me is leaving a permanent foot print on the sands of time after the service period.”

From our prayers today, I can distinctly see nations and investors flooding our state.

“For those who have the opportunity to be elected or appointed, let me remind you that power belongs to God. The position you occupy today is not to oppress others but to diligently serve them, and I will not relent in sacking anyone who acts contrary.”

One is left to wonder the amount of workload the previous governor had left behind to warrant Governor Otu entrusting the state to God’s hands in a church service.

Is he perhaps trying to inform the residents of the state to expect nothing less than a miracle for the state to perform brilliantly?
