Hadi Sirika, the former aviation minister has allegedly landed in the net of the Department of State Services, DSS, over the recent alleged ‘launch’ of Nigeria Air.
According to reports, Sirika had arrived at the DSS headquarters in Abuja for an interrogation in his Range Rover SUV.
He was thereafter allegedly grilled for several hours by DSS officials.
This interrogation is following the claims that acting managing director of Nigeria Air, Captain Dapo Olumide, had made, disclosing that the plane that was exhibited as Nigeria Air was a chartered aircraft from Ethiopian Airlines.
Olumide had further told the Senate Committee on Aviation that the aircraft was used to reveal the Nigeria Air logo and that it was yet to be operational.
Prior to this development, the Nigeria Air ‘launch’ was widely condemned as a scam, especially after investigative journalist, David Hundeyin had exposed the whole affair.
The aircraft that was ’launched’ was revealed to be over 10 years old and had previously been piloted by Ethiopian Airlines and Malawi Airlines respectively.
